TROFEO AYRTON SENNA – SARNO
Ad inizio dicembre abbiamo partecipato alla 26^ edizione del Trofeo Ayrton Senna, disputata a Sarno, per metterci alla prova contro avversari di caratura mondiale; purtroppo però il weekend non è stato dei migliori. Questa è stata la prima prova con il nuovo Team (DR Racing).
Durante le prove libere ci siamo concentrati sulla messa a punto del kart, senza mai cercare la prestazione; questo ha portato qualche frutto nella qualifica del sabato, dove abbiamo conquistato la 15esima posizione. Nella gara di qualificazione di sabato pomeriggio, un problema alla partenza dell’avversario immediatamente di fronte a noi purtroppo ci ha fatto precipitare all’ultimo posto.
Dimostrando grande caparbietà però il nostro Alex è riuscito a rimontare terminando la gara da dove era partito: 15esimo. La domenica si sono svolte le due gare finali, ma per noi sono durate davvero poco; nella finale 1, dopo una portentosa partenza che ci ha fatto guadagnare ben 8 posizioni, un avversario ci investe, distruggendoci il kart e costringendoci al ritiro.
Nella finale 2: Alex effettua una buona partenza con il recupero di qualche posizione, ma in curva 1, l’entrata aggressiva di un avversario causa un grosso incidente, facendo terminare anzitempo la gara per entrambi.
At the beginning of December we took part in the 26th edition of the Ayrton Senna Trophy, held in Sarno, to test ourselves against world-class opponents; unfortunately, however, the weekend was not the best. This was the first test with the new Team (DR Racing).
During free practice we concentrated on setting up the kart, without ever looking for performance; this brought some fruit in Saturday’s qualifying, where we conquered the 15th position. In the qualifying race on Saturday afternoon, a problem at the start of the opponent immediately in front of us unfortunately dropped us to last place.
Showing great stubbornness, however, our Alex managed to come back and finish the race from where he started: 15th. The two final races took place on Sunday, but they didn’t last very long for us; in final 1, after a prodigious start that made us gain 8 positions, an opponent hit us, destroying our kart and forcing us to retire.
In final 2: Alex makes a good start with the recovery of some positions, but in turn 1, the aggressive entry of an opponent causes a big accident, ending the race prematurely for both.
