Nel prestigioso appuntamento andato in scena sul circuito partenopeo il pilota DR Racing Kart naviga costantemente nella top 10 assoluta dopo qualifiche sfortunate. La stagione si chiude con tanti segnali positivi in vista del 2024
Più forte della sfortuna, più tenace di qualsiasi avversità. Alex Zucco ha fornito una nuova dimostrazione di grinta e velocità, rendendosi autore di una prestazione maiuscola in occasione della 28esima edizione del Trofeo ‘Ayrton Senna’, il prestigioso appuntamento di fine anno in grado di richiamare i principali interpreti del karting mondiale sul Circuito Internazionale Napoli. Il giovane pilota milanese è infatti riuscito a mettersi alle spalle una sessione di qualifica decisamente poco fortunata, dando vita ad una serie di ottime prestazioni nelle varie manche durante le quali si è costantemente distinto tra i migliori del gruppo nella categoria KZ2, chiudendo con un positivo ottavo posto nella graduatoria assoluta.
Per il 16enne portacolori del DR Racing Kart si tratta di un risultato che premia il temperamento e l’abnegazione messa in mostra nel corso del weekend svoltosi lungo i 1550 metri del kartodromo di Sarno, ma che soprattutto gli consente di terminare con il sorriso sulle labbra una stagione estremamente lunga ed impegnativa. La voglia di lottare non è mai venuta a mancare al 16enne di Buccinasco, nemmeno dopo il guaio tecnico che lo ha costretto allo stop in qualifica e ad una partenza dal fondo del gruppo. Forte dell’esperienza maturata nel corso di un’annata vissuta ad alti livelli, il vincitore della Coppa Italia ACI Karting Under 18 si è messo in luce grazie a numerosi sorpassi e ad un ottimo passo gara, lottando costantemente all’interno della Top 10 in tutte le prove disputate.
Dopo il problema al motore che gli ha impedito di realizzare un tempo valido in qualifica, Alex Zucco ha iniziato la sequenza di gare con il coltello tra i denti, chiudendo la prima manche di qualificazione al 12° posto dopo aver inanellato una bella sequenza di sorpassi. La scalata verso la parte alta della classifica è poi proseguita anche nella prova successiva, con Zucco artefice di una bellissima prestazione che gli ha consentito di chiudere in sesta posizione sotto la bandiera a scacchi.
La giornata conclusiva, andata in scena su un asfalto reso insidioso dalla pioggia, ha quindi visto Alex scattare dalla quinta fila dello schieramento in occasione della Finale 1, con un’ottima prova che lo ha visto recuperare sino alla settima piazza. Un pizzico di sfortuna lo ha poi penalizzato al via della gara conclusiva: nonostante diverse posizioni perse nelle convulse fasi iniziali, il milanese si è nuovamente reso protagonista di una bella rimonta che lo ha portato a concludere al decimo posto assoluto. Grazie al punteggio totale acquisito nell’arco delle varie manche, il portacolori del team diretto da Danilo Rossi ha quindi conquistato una positiva ottava piazza finale, che rappresenta un degno epilogo ad una stagione vissuta in costante crescita.
Alex Zucco (pilota DR Racing Kart): “Complessivamente il bilancio di questo weekend è da considerarsi positivo, anche se i guai tecnici avuti nella giornata di venerdì hanno condizionato la prestazione impedendomi di girare come avrei voluto. Nelle gare mi sono divertito riuscendo a girare su ottimi tempi e mettendo a segno diversi sorpassi; nella giornata di Domenica, nonostante il mio feeling con la pioggia non sia ancora ottimale, sono riuscito a confermarmi nella top ten ottenendo un buon piazzamento finale. Sono felice di essere riuscito a raggiungere una costanza di rendimento grazie all’esperienza maturata nel corso dell’anno, che mi ha consentito di crescere e migliorare di volta in volta. Per questo devo ringraziare il mio team DR Racing Kart, Danilo Rossi e il mio meccanico per il grande supporto ricevuto durante un’annata per me molto impegnativa, così come Athletica Sports per avermi consentito di rendere al meglio dal punto di vista fisico, oltre naturalmente ai miei sponsor per aver condiviso con me questa splendida avventura. Un ringraziamento speciale va ai miei genitori, i quali sono sempre stati al mio fianco e pronti a sostenermi anche nei momenti di difficoltà. CLOSING OF THE SEASON AS A PROTAGONIST FOR ALEX ZUCCO IN THE ‘AYTON SENNA TROPHY’ IN SARNO
In the prestigious event held on the Neapolitan circuit, the DR Racing Kart driver consistently navigates in the overall top 10 after unlucky qualifying. The season ends with many positive signs ahead of 2024
Stronger than bad luck, more tenacious than any adversity. Alex Zucco provided a new demonstration of determination and speed, producing a great performance on the occasion of the 28th edition of the ‘Ayrton Senna’ Trophy, the prestigious end-of-year event capable of attracting the main interpreters of world karting to the Naples International Circuit . The young Milanese driver in fact managed to put a decidedly unlucky qualifying session behind him, giving life to a series of excellent performances in the various heats during which he constantly stood out among the best of the group in the KZ2 category, closing with a positive eighth place in the overall ranking.
For the 16-year-old representative of DR Racing Kart, this is a result that rewards the temperament and dedication shown during the weekend which took place along the 1550 meters of the Sarno kart track, but which above all allows him to finish with a smile on his lips an extremely long and demanding season. The desire to fight never disappeared from the 16-year-old from Buccinasco, not even after the technical problem that forced him to stop in qualifying and start from the back of the group. Strengthened by the experience gained during a year lived at high levels, the winner of the ACI Karting Under 18 Italian Cup stood out thanks to numerous overtakings and an excellent race pace, constantly fighting within the Top 10 in all tests played.
After the engine problem that prevented him from setting a valid time in qualifying, Alex Zucco began the sequence of races with a knife between his teeth, finishing the first qualifying heat in 12th place after putting together a nice sequence of overtaking . The climb towards the top of the standings continued in the next round, with Zucco producing a wonderful performance which allowed him to finish in sixth position under the checkered flag.
The final day, which took place on an asphalt made treacherous by the rain, saw Alex start from the fifth row of the grid for Final 1, with an excellent performance that saw him recover up to seventh place. A bit of bad luck then penalized him at the start of the final race: despite losing several positions in the frantic initial stages, the Milanese was once again the protagonist of a good comeback which led him to finish in tenth place overall. Thanks to the total score acquired over the various heats, the standard bearer of the team directed by Danilo Rossi therefore achieved a positive eighth place in the final, which represents a worthy epilogue to a season experienced in constant growth.
Alex Zucco (DR Racing Kart driver): “Overall the outcome of this weekend is to be considered positive, even if the technical problems I had on Friday affected my performance, preventing me from lapping as I would have liked. In the races I had fun, managing to set excellent times and making several overtakes; on Sunday, although my feeling with the rain is not yet optimal, I managed to confirm myself in the top ten, obtaining a good final position. I am happy to have managed to achieve consistent performance thanks to the experience gained over the year, which has allowed me to grow and improve from time to time. For this I must thank my DR Racing Kart team, Danilo Rossi and my mechanic for the great support received during a very challenging year for me, as well as Athletica Sports for allowing me to perform at my best from a physical point of view, as well as of course to my sponsors for sharing this wonderful adventure with me.
