Il momento tanto atteso è finalmente arrivato. Dopo una lunga preparazione, Alex Zucco è pronto per rappresentare l’Italia nel prestigioso FIA Karting World Championship, in programma sul circuito di Wackersdorf (Germania) dal 7 al 10 Settembre. Un appuntamento che vedrà i migliori talenti del karting internazionale darsi battaglia lungo i 1190 metri del tracciato che sorge nel cuore della Baviera, con l’obiettivo di aggiudicarsi la conquista del trono iridato nelle tre categorie al via. Saranno infatti ben 245 i piloti ai nastri di partenza della competizione in rappresentanza di ben 36 nazioni, nell’ambito di un evento di ampia risonanza che vedrà gli occhi del motorsport internazionale puntati sul circuito tedesco per scovare i talenti del futuro.
Il 16enne di Buccinasco si è preparato con estrema meticolosità e dedizione in vista del fine settimana più atteso della stagione. Dopo aver preso parte alla manifestazione ‘Road to Wackersdorf’ svoltasi a fine Luglio, il portacolori del DR Racing Kart si è anche cimentato poco meno di due settimane fa nella terza tappa stagionale del Deutsche Kartmeisterschaft, proprio con l’obiettivo di familiarizzare con l’impegnativo circuito tedesco. In quest’ultima occasione la pioggia ha condizionato pesantemente l’esito del week-end, ma il percorso portato avanti dal grintoso driver milanese ha mostrato una costante escalation nelle sue performance che lascia ben sperare in vista del round iridato.
Di certo, il giovanissimo Zucco dovrà fare i conti con un parterre di avversari di primissimo livello, molti dei quali aventi alle spalle un bagaglio d’esperienza decisamente superiore: ma il lavoro portato avanti soprattutto nel corso di questa stagione ha consentito al portacolori del team diretto da Danilo Rossi di migliorare sotto ogni punto di vista, cogliendo risultati incoraggianti e consentendogli di continuare a credere nel proprio sogno.
Saranno ben 125 i piloti al via nella categoria KZ2, i quali dovranno affrontare un duro percorso di selezione prima di poter conquistare l’obiettivo di arrivare alla Finale. Dopo la giornata dedicata ai test, il programma dell’evento entrerà infatti nel vivo Venerdì 8 Settembre, con lo svolgimento in mattinata delle sessioni di prove libere e di qualifica; nel pomeriggio scatteranno quindi le varie manche di qualificazione, le quali attribuiranno ai vari piloti il punteggio necessario per accedere o meno alle due manche di Super Heat, previste alle ore 11:15 ed alle 11:40 di Domenica 10 Settembre. La sfida per incoronare il nuovo campione del mondo KZ2 vedrà infine il via della gara alle ore 15:35 sulla distanza di 26 giri, per un totale di 30 km.
Alex Zucco (pilota DR Racing Kart): “Finalmente ci siamo! Arrivo a questo appuntamento iridato con un pizzico d’emozione ma soprattutto con la consapevolezza di essermi preparato al massimo delle mie possibilità, dunque con l’obiettivo di cogliere un buon risultato ma al tempo stesso di capire il mio attuale livello al cospetto dei migliori piloti del mondo. Naturalmente sarà una sfida tutt’altro che semplice: il livello degli avversari è altissimo, e da parte mia dovrò fare i conti con un livello di esperienza inevitabilmente inferiore rispetto a quello in possesso di gran parte dei miei competitor. Detto questo, ho la fortuna di poter fare affidamento su un team di primissimo piano come il DR Racing Kart, che mi ha aiutato tantissimo nel corso della stagione e che anche in questa occasione mi metterà nelle migliori condizioni per poter ben figurare. Abbiamo preso parte nel corso dell’ultimo mese e mezzo a due eventi importanti sul circuito di Wackersdorf, che mi hanno consentito di familiarizzare con un tracciato sul quale non avevo mai corso in precedenza; questo si è rivelato molto utile e devo naturalmente anche ringraziare la mia famiglia per gli sforzi che sta facendo al fine di potermi consentire di andare a caccia del mio sogno. Sarà un fine settimana di grandi emozioni: avremo gli occhi di tantissime persone puntati addosso, anche grazie alla diretta streaming che verrà seguita in tutto il mondo. Sarà quindi anche una bella occasione di visibilità per i miei sponsor, con i quali sono orgoglioso di poter condividere questo mio percorso. Il FIA Karting World Championship di Wackersdorf sarà trasmesso in live streaming sul sito ufficiale della competizione e sui canali Social (YouTube e Facebook) a partire dalle ore 14:00 di Venerdì, mentre nelle giornate successive la diretta inizierà rispettivamente alle 9:40 (Sabato) e alle 10:20 (Domenica) per seguire l’intero programma della manifestazione.

The long-awaited moment has finally arrived. After a long preparation, Alex Zucco is ready to represent Italy in the prestigious FIA Karting World Championship, scheduled on the circuit of Wackersdorf (Germany) from 7 to 10 September. An appointment that will see the best talents of international karting battle it out along the 1190 metres of the track located in the heart of Bavaria, with the aim of winning the world throne in the three categories at the start. As many as 245 drivers will be at the starting line of the competition, representing as many as 36 nations, in the context of a major event that will see the eyes of international motorsport focused on the German circuit to discover the talents of the future.
The 16-year-old from Buccinasco has prepared meticulously and with dedication for the most eagerly awaited weekend of the season. After having taken part in the ‘Road to Wackersdorf’ event held at the end of July, the DR Racing Kart holder also competed a little less than a fortnight ago in the third stage of the season of the Deutsche Kartmeisterschaft, precisely with the aim of familiarising himself with the demanding German circuit. On this last occasion the rain heavily conditioned the outcome of the weekend, but the course taken by the gutsy Milanese driver showed a constant escalation in his performance that bodes well for the championship round.
Of course, the young Zucco will have to reckon with a parterre of top-level opponents, many of them with a decidedly higher level of experience behind them: but the work carried out especially during this season has allowed the holder of the team managed by Danilo Rossi to improve from every point of view, achieving encouraging results and allowing him to keep believing in his dream.
There will be as many as 125 drivers at the start in the KZ2 category, who will have to face a tough selection process before they can achieve their goal of reaching the Final. After the day dedicated to testing, the programme of the event will be in full swing on Friday 8 September, with the free practice and qualifying sessions in the morning; in the afternoon, the various qualifying heats will start, which will give the various drivers the points needed to gain access or not to the two Super Heat heats, scheduled at 11.15am and at 11.40am on Sunday 10 September. The challenge to crown the new KZ2 world champion will finally see the start of the race at 15:35 over a distance of 26 laps, for a total of 30 km.

I’m coming to this rainbow event with a touch of emotion, but above all with the awareness that I have prepared myself to the best of my ability, and therefore with the aim of achieving a good result, but at the same time to understand my current level against the best drivers in the world. Of course it will be a challenge that is anything but easy: the level of the opponents is very high, and I will have to deal with a level of experience that is inevitably lower than that possessed by most of my competitors. Having said that, I am lucky enough to be able to rely on a top team like DR Racing Kart, which has helped me so much during the season and which will put me in the best possible position to perform well on this occasion too. Over the last month and a half we have taken part in two important events on the Wackersdorf circuit, which have enabled me to familiarise myself with a track on which I had never raced before; this has proved very useful and I must of course also thank my family for the efforts they are making to enable me to chase my dream. It will be a weekend of great emotions: we will have the eyes of so many people on us, also thanks to the live streaming that will be followed worldwide. It will therefore also be a great opportunity for visibility for my sponsors, with whom I am proud to be able to share this journey of mine.
